Tomken Library Learning Commons (LLC)
The Library Learning Commons (LLC) is a communal learning space where students and teachers can read, explore, research, create, and collaborate. The LLC offers a robust collection of fiction and non-fiction texts, as well as provides access to online learning materials. The Teacher-Librarian is available to assist students in accessing texts and online learning materials, as well as to support students in their learning.
You and your child can use the links above to:
search the books, DVDs, videos, CD-ROMs and other resources available in our LLC
enter your child's student number to view items your child has on loan from our LLC
use the "digital library" to do research
view suggested reading lists and award-winning books available in our LLC
review methods for citation
access ebooks, online resources and video resources
In addition to curricular support programming, the LLC also offers extra-curricular programming for students. Below you will find a schedule for this programming.
Morning Club - Drop in program for all grade levels
All morning club participants will meet outside the grade six entry doors at 7:40 to be escorted by a teacher to the LLC.
|Tuesday - Thursday 7:40 - 8:15|
All lunch club participants will line up, with their lunches, outside of the LLC.
Wednesdays 11:10 - 12:00
Thursdays 11:10 - 12:00
Tuesdays 11:30 - 12:20
All homework club participants will line up, with their backpacks, outside of the LLC. Participation will be limited.
Monday - Thursday 2:35 - 3:15
In order for these programs to run smoothly, we require the assistance of student volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a LLC Council Member, please fill out the google form application ( https://goo.gl/forms/DKdy0Pr19ocyRTgk2 ). Remember that students who are committed to the LLC Council can earn up to 5 Tomken T Points for Arts and Community!
