IMPORTANT DATES FOR ENTRY TO Grade 6 and 7 IBT FOR SEPTEMBER 2013:
 
Wednesday, January 23, 2013, 5:30 p.M. & 7:00 p.M.: IBT Information Session 
Plan to attend the information night at Allan A. Martin Senior P.S. on January 23, 2013 to learn about the program. We will hold two sessions. The first at 5:30 p.m. and the second at 7:00 p.m. Due to fire regulations, once capacity has been reached for the first session, no further entrance to the gymnasium will be permitted and you will be required to attend the second session.
 
Application packages will be available on our school website.  Please ensure your child logs on to our school website at www.aamartin.ca to apply to the Grade 6 or Grade 7 IBT Program at Allan A. Martin.  The IBT Application link will only be available until Friday, February 1st, 2013.  We will not accept any applications past this date.
 
Only students entering Grade 6 and 7 in September 2013 are eligible to apply. Students whose parents/legal guardians reside in Peel at the time of application are eligible to apply. Continued residence in Peel is required to remain in the program.
 
For the 2013-14 school year, there will be intake to the International Business and Technology (IBT) programs at two grade levels:
 

1.      Grade 6 - Allan A. Martin Sr. Public School (southeast area of the board), Lisgar Middle School and Williams Parkway Sr. Public School

2.      Grade 7 - Allan A. Martin Sr. Public School (all areas of the board) 

For the 2014-15 school year, students in the southeast area of the board will be able to apply in Grade 6 and Grade 7 to attend the program at Allan A. Martin Sr. Public School.

On-line Application Deadline: February 1, 2013, 3:00 p.M.
NOTE: If you missed the IBT Information Evening that was held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, you MUST visit the school website at www.aamartin.ca to apply.
 
All applications must be completed by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013.
 
Wednesday, February 20, 2013, 8:40 A.M. - 2:00 p.M.: IBT Writing Day
Only Grade 7 applicants are required to attend Allan A. Martin on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 to complete an entrance assessment.  Only Grade 7 applicants that have completed their IBT application on-line and paid their non-refundable application fee of $25.00 (cash/cheque) to Allan A. Martin by Februray 1, 2013 are eligible to write the entrance assessement.  If your child is applying to the Grade 6 IBT program, an entrance assessment does not have to be completed.
 
There are 4 sessions that will be available for Grade 7 applicants to write the entrance assessment:
 
Session #1:  8:40 am - 9:40 am
Session #2:  9:40 am - 10:40 am
Session #3:  10:40 am - 11:40 am
Session #4:  1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
 
Every student writing the entrance assessment on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 MUST have a scheduled appointment.  Students who attend the IBT Information Evening will request on paper their time preference.  Students who do not attend the IBT Information Evening will be assigned a time after February 1, 2013.
 
For Grade 6 Non-Peel Board Applicants:
If your child is a non-Peel Board student and currently in Grade 5, you must bring in the following documents to Allan A. Martin by February 1, 2013 between 8am - 3pm.  
  • Copy of Grade 4, June Report Card
  • Copy of Progress Report (Grade 5)
  • Copy of February Elementary Report Card (Grade 5)
  • Copy of IEP (if applicable)
  • Request for Financial Assistance (Please arrange a confidential interview with the Principal)
  • Non-refundable application fee of $25 (cheque payable to Allan A. Martin SPS)    *Please include your child's first and last name in the memo portion of the cheque.

For Grade 7 Non-Peel Board Applicants:  

  • Copy of Grade 5, June Report Card
  • Copy of Progress Report (Grade 6)
  • Copy of February Elementary Report Card (Grade 6)
  • Copy of IEP (if applicable)
  • Request for Financial Assistance (Please arrange a confidential interview with the Principal)

Acceptance offers made to student applicants mailed by: april 8, 2013
