Our Mission

Our mission describes our school's purpose. Our vision depicts our desired future. The principles needed to achieve our mission and vision are articulated in our values. Finally, the actions we need to demonstrate to make our mission, vision and values a reality are described in our collective commitments.

We have developed these statements in collaboration with our staff, students and families. They are part of our School Success Plan.


To enable all students and staff to reach their full potential in a community of learning and become productive, adaptive, independent and interdependent participants in a rapidly changing world, to be able to creatively apply knowledge and skills to real world problems.

Collective Commitments

Staff Commitments

  • working together as members of our dynamic learning community to improve teaching and learning for all
  • finding the strengths and interests in each learner and using instruction to leverage these to provide optimum learning opportunities for each learner
  • collect evidence of effective instruction and its impact on student learning and use to identify greatest area of need and strategies to improve
  • provide regular feedback to students and parents about their academic performance and specific ways in which it can be improved

Student Commitments

  • take an active role in self-monitoring their own progress through reference to rubrics and scales of performance and feedback from teacher
  • take responsibility for doing their homework diligently and to the best of their ability
  • adhere to the school's Code of Conduct and help to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment

Parent Commitments

  • maintain a dialogue with and give feedback to school staff and their child/ren on ways that they can support their child's learning
  • give input to the School Success planning process through survey and other data collection
  • provide a suitable and quiet place for students to do homework; monitor homework completion and sign agenda to indicate homework completion
