​The Peel District School Board has launched a direct, clear set of Key Fa​cts on religious accommodation. The new fact sheet responds to misinformation a​nd errors that have been shared in the community and on social media.​​​​ The fact sheet​ can be found at www.peelschools.org/aboutus/equity. It will be translated into the top 10 languages spoken by Peel ​families and posted by next week.​

Annoucing our Parent Representatives for School Council 2016-2017

This year there were a total of 16 parent nominees for 5 parent positions on School Council. The elections during our Curriculum Night engaged a high number of voters. Although it is only possible to announce 5 candidates as the official parent representatives on School Council, the historical nature of Whitehorn's School Council has consistently been welcoming, honouring all voices.

Below, in random order,  are the 5 elected School Council parent representatives:

  • Amita Tandel
  • Meenakshi Bohra Vyas
  • Sameer Bhora
  • Rachelle Manios
  • Muhammad Haroon

Our first meeting is:

  • Tuesday October 4 from 6-7 PM in the Whitehorn library

An agenda will be posted shortly on our Whitehorn website. The main focus will be to determine roles within the council and discuss goals for the upcoming school year. All Whitehorn parents are welcome!

We are looking forward to another fruitful year working together to meet the needs of all Whitehorn students!

​School Counci elections will be held at Whitehorn on Wednesday September 28 at 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM and 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM. 

Please read the attached to learn about the candidates. Each parent /guardian may vote for up to 5 candidates.

Valid picture identification must be presented to receive a ballot.

23rd Annual Elmer Safety Awards - Looking for Heroes

Peel Children's Safety Village, in partnership with Peel Regional Police are proud to host the 23rd Annual Elmer Safety Recognition Awards.

Nominations are now being accepted.  Each child in Peel Region, including the communities of Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon, from junior kindergarten through to grade eight, is eligible for an award. Children who assisted their classmates, parents or friends, and have performed at a level beyond expectation, are eligible. We are seeking children who, in the past year, showed heroic behavior or performed extraordinary acts of citizenship.
