Annoucing our Parent Representatives for School Council 2016-2017

This year there were a total of 16 parent nominees for 5 parent positions on School Council. The elections during our Curriculum Night engaged a high number of voters. Although it is only possible to announce 5 candidates as the official parent representatives on School Council, the historical nature of Whitehorn's School Council has consistently been welcoming, honouring all voices.

Below, in random order,  are the 5 elected School Council parent representatives:

  • Amita Tandel
  • Meenakshi Bohra Vyas
  • Sameer Bhora
  • Rachelle Manios
  • Muhammad Haroon

Our first meeting is:

  • Tuesday October 4 from 6-7 PM in the Whitehorn library

An agenda will be posted shortly on our Whitehorn website. The main focus will be to determine roles within the council and discuss goals for the upcoming school year. All Whitehorn parents are welcome!

We are looking forward to another fruitful year working together to meet the needs of all Whitehorn students!

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

In October 2014, the Peel District School Board sought input from families to help guide the development of resources that help parents and caregivers support their children's learning. The result is a new Help Your Child online resource centre on the Peel board's website with the topics families said were important to them.
