Ontario Child Health Study

From October 2014 to May 2015, Statistics Canada will be inviting 7,000 families with children aged 4-17 years of age to complete an interview in their home called the Ontario Child Health Study (OCHS).  As well, McMaster University researchers will be conducting School Mental Health Surveys (SMAS) in 240 Ontario schools.

The research data collected by OCHS will be used to support and develop policies and programs to ensure the health of children in Ontario. A similar study was conducted in 1983, with follow-up studies in 1987 and 2000.
