It's time to register children born in 2014 for kindergarten

We inspire success, confidence and hope in each student…and it all starts in kindergarten! If your child was born in 2014, he or she can start kindergarten in September 2018.

Peel elementary schools will hold Kindergarten Registration Week during Jan. 29 to Feb. 2, 2018. Visit the school your child will attend from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Jan. 29 to Feb. 2 and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 1.

If you can't make one of these times, no problem! You can register your child at any time during regular school hours.

What you will need to bring to registration

The kindergarten registration form can be downloaded and completed before visiting your child's school by visiting Forms can also be completed in person at Peel elementary schools. 

The following documents must accompany the registration form:

Proof of child's age (one of)

  • Canadian birth certificate 
  • Canadian passport 
  • citizenship card/certificate 
  • Permanent Resident Card 
  • confirmation of permanent residence 
  • work or study permit 
  • proof of refugee status

Proof of address (one of)

  • Ontario driver's license 
  • utility bill    
  • bank statement (directly from financial institution) 
  • credit card statement 
  • federal government forms (e.g. Social Insurance Number, Service Canada documents) 
  • purchase agreement (lease agreements will not be accepted)

Proof of custody
Children must live with their parent(s) unless provided documentation supports an alternate living arrangement.

Proof of immunization 
Students registering in an Ontario public school for the first time must provide proof of immunization/vaccination. If you don't have an immunization record for your child, please call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700.

Registering students with special needs

Students who have a demonstrated developmental disability, physical disability, hearing or vision loss or ASD/PDD diagnosis may require specialized support in the school setting.

The Peel board's Special Education Support Services department looks forward to working with families as planning for their child's entry to school in September begins. For information about this planning process, call 905-890-1010/1-800-668-1146 ext. 2315.
