The Peel District School
Board will host information sessions for families about its French Immersion (FI) and
Extended French (EF) programs at each FI/EF school on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. Applications open on Monday, Nov. 25 at 8:30 a.m. These
programs are an option for families to consider if they have a child who will
start grade 1 or grade 7 in September 2020. Visit www.peelschools.org/French to find the FI or EF school in your area.

Important dates for FI/EF applications (2020-21 school year)
Information Night Information nights will be held at your local French Immersion/Extended French school.

Application update
Schools will advise parents/guardians if their child is accepted for grade 1 FI or grade 7 EF, or placed on the school's waitlist. | Friday, March 6, 2020 |

If space is available, placements from waitlists would be considered between these dates. | March 6 to Sept. 8, 2020 |
The application forms for Grade 1 FI and Grade 7 EF will be will be available online on Monday, Nov. 25 at 8:30 a.m. at www.peelschools.org/French. The deadline to apply is Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.
It is important to note that applicants are not offered space on a first come, first served basis. A computerized random selection process will randomly assign a rank to each application that is received by the deadline and will determine which students will be offered spaces in the grade 1 FI or grade 7 EF programs. Once students have been assigned to all available spaces, remaining students will be placed, again in rank order, on the school's waitlist. Each school has its own waitlist.
