Letter for parents regarding incident in Ellwood Memorial community

Letter for parents regarding incident in Ellwood Memorial community

January 5, 2015

Dear Ellwood Memorial Families,

I am writing to make you aware of an incident that took place in our school community today. During lunchtime, a student from a nearby school was approached by an unknown male in a vehicle while he was off school property getting lunch. The man asked the student to come to the car, and stopped the vehicle to approach the student on foot. The student was able to return safely to school. The student's school immediately contacted police who are currently investigating.

In October 2014, the Peel District School Board sought input from families to help guide the development of resources that help parents and caregivers support their children's learning. The result is a new Help Your Child online resource centre on the Peel board's website with the topics families said were important to them.

Things to remember about the Fraser Institute's Report

The Fraser Institute's Report Card on Ontario's Elementary Schools uses grade 3 and grade 6 Education Quality & Accountability Office (EQAO) test results to calculate each school's overall rating out of 10. As presented, the ratings in the report provide an incomplete and distorted picture of school effectiveness. Learn more here: http://www.peelschools.org/…/fraserreport/Pages/default.aspx
