NEW SECURITY ENTRANCE AT RHL. Beginning this September, the front doors of our school will be locked during the school day. This is part of the Safe Welcome program announced by the government in December 2012 for all elementary schools in Ontario. Portable doors will also be locked. A letter explaining the program was sent home in June 2013. A follow up letter is also being sent home the first week of school. A camera and buzzer unit is installed and is linked to a monitor in the main office. Anyone (parents, staff and visitors) who wishes to access the school once the school day has begun will request entry by pressing the buzzer. Staff in the main office will be able to see and speak to the person and release the door lock to provide access. Our lunchhour is 11:16 am - 12: 16 pm and you may experience further delays for access as student office helpers will only answer the buzzer and must locate an adult to provide access. Please be patient in adjusting to this new procedure in order to provide further safety and well-being of all students and staff at RHL.

PARENTS OF STUDENTS WITH LIFE THREATENING ALLERGIES OR MEDICAL CONDITIONS MUST COMPLETE THE NECESSARY FORMS AND PROVIDE THEM TO THE OFFICE. IF ANY MEDICATION IS BEING ADMINISTERED TO A STUDENT AT SCHOOL, PARENTS MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED FORM COMPLETED BY YOUR CHILD'S PHYSICIAN. NO MEDICATION WILL BE ADMINISTERED BY STAFF WITHOUT COMPLETED FORMS. It is advisable for all paperwork to be completed prior to your child commencing school. Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
ONLINE FORMS NOW AVAILABLE!!
Due to the increasing number of students who tend to "lose"permission forms, we have decided to post the majority of our permission forms online. Please note that all students will continue to receive handouts of trip and permission forms from homeroom teachers, however, if a student has "misplaced"a form and the extras have run out in the office, we will be referring students to our website to print their own required forms themselves. Please visit our "forms"section on the left side of the "About Us" page of our website to view and print forms relating to trips and events. Most organized trips and events are curriculum based and it is strongly encouraged that all students attend the trip/event to enhance their knowledge and grades.
