Summer well-being

Summer well-being

Summer break is around the corner! The psychological and physiological benefits of summer are hard to beat. However, while summer allows for a break from the routine and structure of the school year, for some children and youth, it can be stressful to be away from school. So, while the stressors change when the last school bell signals summer, they don't disappear.

Here at a few tips for summer well-being to keep everyone safe and having fun in the sun!

New Policy for students with Prevalent Medical Conditions

New Policy for students with Prevalent Medical Conditions

Effective September 2018, the Ministry of Education expects all school boards in Ontario to develop and maintain a policy to support students in schools who have Prevalent Medical Conditions (Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and/or Anaphylaxis).  The Peel District School Board has developed Plans of Care to support students with Prevalent Medical Conditions to fully access school in a safe, accepting and healthy learning environment that supports student well-being.

A Plan of Care is a form that contains individualized information on a student with a prevalent medical condition.  Schools will begin to work with families of students who have a Prevalent Medical Condition to complete Plans of Care in preparation for school start up in September.

Our office team at Beatty Fleming will begin to create Plans of Care for each student with a prevalent medical condition in August.  Please contact Mr. Elias, Vice Principal, with any questions or concerns about our new processes, or to discuss details of the plan for your own child.
