On August 17th, 2017, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care announced that the HPV9 vaccine will replace the HPV4 vaccine for grade 7 students. The HPV4 vaccine provides protection against four strains of HPV while the HPV9 vaccine will provide protection against these four strains and an additional five strains of HPV.
HPV4 vaccine will no longer be offered and the Region of Peel requires your consent to immunize your child for HPV9. Please note, this information only applies to grade 7 students. Please complete the consent form being sent home on November 14th and provide it to school.
Completed consents will be given to Peel Public Health Nurses who will give the vaccines at clinics held in our school this school year.
