School Council proudly presents the Volunteer Spotlight, where we will pay tribute to our special and hard-working volunteers for their dedicated efforts that make the McHugh School community a caring and successful environment!
Our volunteer spotlight for June 2012 is dedicated to our "graduating" volunteers! Go here to see the full tribute.
Our volunteer spotlight for May 2012 is Hayley Bird!
Mrs. Bird, (mother of 3), has been part of the McHugh volunteer community for 6 years. She first began her volunteer efforts when her oldest daughter, Talia, started school in 2006. Mrs. Bird currently contributes her time organizing and running the snack program, helping kids read and volunteering in several classrooms for the school. She is always ready to step into any role with a smile on her face. She says the most rewarding aspect of volunteering in the school is seeing the kids show their appreciation for helping them. She encourages others to consider becoming active in the school because it brings great rewards to so many students. “Seeing the smile on a kid's face when they start reading on their own is a real achievement, both for the child and me!”
She is a terrific asset to the McHugh School community and we appreciate all of her hard work and dedication! Thank you Mrs. Bird!
