In conjunction with the Region of Peel, Morton Way has kicked off their P.A.L.S. program this week! Program Activity Leaders in the School or (P.A.L.S) is a great program to help keep our students activie. Student leaders in grades 4 and 5 were trained by Region of Peel nurse Sandrina for two days about how to help younger students play games. Thanks Sandrina, and our school Behaviour Teaching Assistant, Ms. Brooks, for the hard work in training our young leaders. Students on the playground have really like the program so far, remarking "There's so much more to do now!" and "I'm liking the games we can play on the Painted Playground!" The outside E-break time is more lively and fun thanks to work by our young leaders. Next step - how to play games and have fun in the winter snow!
Big thanks as well to Mr. Martin for saving up "gently used" gym equipment to be used in the program, and to Ms. Cain for helping us store equipment in her drama class.
