Here are some helpful tips to keep healthy during the cold and flu season.

EngageMath resources help parents support numeracy success

EngageMath resources help parents support numeracy success

To support the teaching and learning of math, the Peel District School Board has developed EngageMath, a three-year comprehensive numeracy strategy. Math success for all students requires a strong partnership between home and school. That's why we're committed to providing parents with the support they need to help us boost math achievement in Peel. Learn more: http://www.peelschools.org/parents/helpyourchild/math.

Lunch Table Reminders

Lunch Table Reminders

For those parents and guardians who wish to drop off a hot lunch to children, we remind you that lunches should be dropped off to door C (beside the school parking lot) promptly between 11:15 and 11:30.  Our lunchroom supervisor is always happy to greet you and take lunches to put on the table for students; please remember to have your child's name written on the lunch for easy identification.  A reminder also that our lunchroom supervisor has to start another responsibility at 11:45, so please be prompt in dropping off lunches.

Thanks for your help and support!

Kiss and Ride Reminders

Kiss and Ride Reminders

Thanks for your support of our Kiss and Ride Procedures.  A reminder that for the end of the day Kiss and Ride, that students are being brought out in 2 groups: the first group should arrive at the Kiss and Ride off of Charolais at 3:15, just in time for you to pick them and and bring them home.  A second group (the late bunch) are brought out by staff a few minutes later.

Please remind your children in grades 1-5 to arrive at door C promptly to be included in the first group; Kindergarten students are brought to door C by staff so always arrive on time.  Please also remind children (as we do here of course) to stay with siblings and friends who will be picked up at kiss and ride, so as to make loading easier in the kiss and ride zone.

For parents driving into the kiss and ride, we remind all drivers that some parents take some extra time to help load the little ones safely into car seats, which we encourage.  Staff will direct other cars around these stationary vehicles to help improve traffic flow.  Please remember not to block the DRIVE THROUGH Lane, or to pick up children in the DRIVE THROUGH lane as this would be unsafe.

If you need a yellow KISS and RIDE TAG, please drop by the office any time to pick one up for the upcoming winter months.

Thanks as always for your help and support.

Cold Weather Soon!

Cold Weather Soon!

This note is a reminder to all students and parents/guardians about  dressing apporpriately for outdoor recess.  It seems that the cold weather has arrived suddenly, but students will still be going out for recess unless temperatures drop to -25 degrees celcius (depending on wind chill as well).

Please remember that students should have hats, scarfs and a warm coat for the cold weather.  Once our snow arrives, only students with snow pants and boots will be allowed to play on the field, to keep their pants and socks warm and dry.

Synrevoice Notification Service now Active!

Synrevoice Notification Service now Active!

Morton Way placed it's first Automated Notification on November 10th.  Community members would have received an email to their in-bins and a call to their home phone or mobile device (between 5:00 p.m.  - 8:00 p.m.).  Those receiving the call would have heard the voice of our school principal, Mrs. Spence, and a translation in Punjabi by classroom teacher Mrs. Bakshi.

This automated notification service will help enhance overall communication within our school community and improve our emergency preparedness.

Remember, to ensure correct delivery of all important messages to you, please make sure that the office is aware of any recent changes in your phone numbers or email addresses.  You will have recently received an OSOR sheet that has your child's information on it.  If you have not yet sent that in, please do so as soon as you can so you can receive our automated emails and calls using Synrevoice.

We are excited about our first call out, and to using Synrevoice to enhance communication and improve the quality of education for your child.  We would like to hear your feedback on this new initiative at parent council meetings.  Thanks for your support!
