We've expanded our Recycling Center

We've expanded our Recycling Center

Great news from your Eco-Schools committee!  Our recycling program continues to welcome community drop offs to help 'green' our environment.  Students or parents/guardians can start to bring in toner and inkjet cartridges to be recycled here at school in the front foyer as a green stand-up bin has now been added, just inside the front doors. Please remember you can dispose of old markers and small used battaries as well.
Please be careful that the cartridges are undamaged so students should take care when bringing them to school.  Thanks everyone for your help in creating a greener Morton Way Community!

Letter to families about updated health & physical education curriculum

Letter to families about updated health & physical education curriculum

The Ministry of Education recently released its revised Health & Physical Education (HPE) curriculum, which all Ontario schools are required to implement beginning in September 2015. We want to ensure all Peel families have the information they need to help them understand the changes and learn how the curriculum will be taught in the classroom.

Kiss and Ride Reminders

Kiss and Ride Reminders

This message is a reminder to our community about the benefits of our Kiss and Ride program.  We've noticed a lot of traffic on Morton Way in the morning, and we remind our community that there is no parking allowed on the school driveway as this is a Fire Route and Busing Zone.  Please use our Kiss and Ride to drop off students from 8:30 to 8:40 a.m. to avoid the buildup of traffic, especially when our buses have to get through to drop off students.

A reminder that for after school Kiss and Ride, students are still walked to Kiss and Ride area in the large first group, and then a second group minutes later for late students. Please only pick up students, if you are driving your car into the Kiss and Ride Area.  If you are parked elsewhere, please pick up students at the school from door 6 or 7.

To avoid having the Kiss and Ride area crowded, we politely ask that parents and students who are walking home, not walk through the Kiss and Ride area via the middle walkway.  Walkers should please use the walkways on the edges of the field.  Thank you for your concern.

Sedak our Hospital Volunteer!

Sedak our Hospital Volunteer!

Please read about the volunteer work of Grade 5 student Sedak, who helped out at the community hospital over the summer.  We're all proud of Sedak and her leadership in the community and at the school.  Sedak's work is one great example of how at Morton Way,  we're "Celebrating the Leader Within."  Read on to see Sedak's own written summary of her summer project.

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

In October 2014, the Peel District School Board sought input from families to help guide the development of resources that help parents and caregivers support their children's learning. The result is a new Help Your Child online resource centre on the Peel board's website with the topics families said were important to them.
