Peel board says, “Facts matter,” provides factual guide to revised HPE curriculum

The Peel District School Board has produced Working together to keep our students safe and healthy: a parent's guide to the revised Health and Physical Education curriculum. The guide provides factual information about the revised curriculum, the actions the board has taken in response, and a grade-by-grade chart of what students will learn. The guide will be distributed to every parent with students in grades 1 to 12.

INFORMATION LETTER

Partnering for Change

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We want you to know about the service delivery model that our school is receiving in partnership with the Central West Community Care Access Centre (CW CCAC). This model was developed and studied by CanChild, a research centre at McMaster University. This model provides educational opportunities for our teachers. Teachers will learn more about how children develop motor skills and how they can help promote motor development using activities in the classroom. An occupational therapist (OT) will work as a coach in our school to help teachers learn more about motor development in all children and about how to help children who may be having difficulty with some motor skills.

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

In October 2014, the Peel District School Board sought input from families to help guide the development of resources that help parents and caregivers support their children's learning. The result is a new Help Your Child online resource centre on the Peel board's website with the topics families said were important to them.
