Building a positive climate for
learning and working
At our school, we model, demonstrate, teach and reinforce shared
character attributes: caring, cooperative, honest, inclusive, respectful and
responsible. These attributes are the focus of the character work in our
curriculum and daily practices with students and also form the basis of our
working relationships with colleagues, parents and community members. The
attributes are defined in our code of conduct.
Together with our work on character education, we are also focussing on
bullying prevention and intervention. We have developed a bullying prevention
and intervention plan to ensure safe, nurturing, engaging relationships at our
school and a positive school climate. All staff are familiar with the language
of the restorative mindset and focus efforts on progressive discipline to help
students be successful in school.
