Soccer Tournament – Grade 5/6 Co-Ed Soccer Tournament

In the first week of October, Grade 5 and 6 students will have the opportunity to try-out for our 4th annual Grade 5/6 Co-Ed Soccer Team.  This year’s tournament will be jointly hosted by Plum Tree and Edenwood schools. On October 23rd, 14 students from Grades 5 and 6 will represent Plum Tree in a tournament versus other schools in the area, at Edenwood School.  Plum Tree has won this tournament for 3 consecutive years, and we look forward to trying to keep the winning streak going on!  GO PANTHERS!

Soccer Tournament – Grade 2/3 Co-Ed Soccer Tournament
In Phys. Ed. class, Grade 2 and 3 students tried out for our first ever Grade 2/3 Co-Ed Soccer Team. A final team was selected through a final invite-only try-out. On October 12th, the 14 students selected from Grades 2 and 3 will represent Plum Tree in a tournament versus other schools in the area.  This will take place at Meadowvale Village School. GO PANTHERS!

Design your own Plum Tree Park clothing – any time!
Plum Tree Park School is partnered with Entripy, a company that allows you to design and order your own Plum Tree Park Panther wear – at any time!
Go to the following website: plumtreepark.entripyshops.com where you can choose from hoodies, t-shirts, hats, Phys. Ed. bags, track pants and more!  There are a variety of designs (including the traditional Panther logo) from which to choose. Items come in a variety of sizes and price ranges – there is something for everyone! Items will arrive to your home in 7-10 business days. 10% of the money from ordered items comes back to the school. For examples of some of the items available for order, please see the front foyer display. It has been fun to see some of the items that have been ordered and worn proudly by students and teachers thus far!

Superwalker Program
Our Superwalker program is in full-swing!  Students who walk, or who ride their bike or scooter to school can collect a stamp from any of our Senior Superwalkers (students on the tarmac in the bright green shirts and/or orange vests) when they arrive to school in the morning. All students are invited to participate in our Wednesday Walking Club at lunch recess, where they can collect 2 stamps at once for their participation. It is fabulous to see so many students participating enthusiastically already!  This year, with each card completed, students can come down to the Green Gym at any morning recess to collect a charm. Once a student has completed 5 cards, their picture will go up on our Superwalker Wall, and they will be invited to a year-end party in June. Keep moving Plum Tree!

Spirit Day
Our Black and Orange Day will take place on Tuesday, October 31st. Students are welcome to wear their Hallowe’een costumes or black and orange if they choose.  We look forward to seeing your creative costume ideas! The traditional parade will take place in the afternoon, allowing students to share their costumes with each other.  An alternate space with activities will be provided for students who are not participating in the parade.  More details will follow in a letter.
