Farewell Wishes & Important Dates for Back to School

Farewell Wishes & Important Dates for Back to School

Dear Plum Tree Families,

As this school year comes to an end, I would like to say what a pleasure it has been to serve as Principal at Plum Tree.  Your ongoing support and involvement at Plum Tree is greatly valued and a key component of our student success.  It is important to take time to reflect on all the wonderful experiences and  accomplishments that your child has had this year and celebrate their learning.

I would like to thank and say a warm farewell to our School Council Chair, Kim Panek for her leadership and contributions to Plum Tree's school community over the past 11 years.

In addition, I want to extend a sincere thank you to our School Council Executive:  Krish Karunakaran, Ahmad Waseem, Victoria McCarley, Roni Khangura, Maria Ahmad Mirza, Karen Martin, Vanessa Woodburn and Shalini Rajhans as well as all the parents involved on our School Council and those who volunteered at Plum Tree throughout the year to support student success on a daily basis.

We strongly value the partnership between the school and home, and appreciate all the continued support of our parent community.

At this time, I would also like to acknowledge and say farewell to the following staff members who are leaving Plum Tree and moving on to new school locations, or other opportunities:

Mme Fahim

Mme Allore

Mr. Gabrielli

Mme Rudge

Mr. James

Mr. McCormack

Mme Mannick

Ms. Nortman

Mme Samaroo

On behalf of the Plum Tree staff, we would like to thank the above individuals for their contributions to Plum Tree and wish them well.

If your child is moving on to another school, we wish your child continued success.  If your child is returning to Plum Tree in the fall, we look forward to seeing you on the first day of school-Tuesday, September 6th.  On behalf of the staff at Plum Tree, we wish you all a very safe and happy summer.

*Note:  Please review the following important dates:

Monday, August 29-Friday, September 2 ~ School Office open for registration from 8:30am-2:30pm

Wednesday, August 31 ~ After 4:00pm, class lists for 2016-2017 will be posted on the front door windows.  Student names will not be posted due to confidentiality-only student ID# so please ensure you know your child's student ID# when checking the class list as the Office will not  have that readily available.

If you are not sure if you qualify for busing, then please check for bus eligibility on the www.stopr.ca site by entering the appropriate information.

If you are a new student to Plum Tree and do not have an OEN number, please contact  Ms. Parasram, our Vice-Principal.

Bussing will begin the first day of school for students who are assigned to a bus.

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

In October 2014, the Peel District School Board sought input from families to help guide the development of resources that help parents and caregivers support their children's learning. The result is a new Help Your Child online resource centre on the Peel board's website with the topics families said were important to them.
