School Council
Update - June
COUNCIL MEETINGS ARE OVER, BUT WE ARE STILL
ACTIVE!
Please consider donating your loyalty points at TERRA to the
school. Give the cashier the points number 463884 to earn supplies and plants
for the school's greening projects. Thank you.
We say many thanks to Upali Dharmabandhu who is retiring as
co-chair after serving on the council for the length of his son’s education at
TSMS.
All parents and guardians are welcome to join the council
and its meetings anytime. We meet six times a year for regular meetings. In
addition, we’ve applied to co-host a parent/guardian keynote presentation
featuring a well-known parenting expert during our 2013-14 school year. Visit
http://s.coop/tsmscouncilfb to subscribe for email updates about this and other news from your
council.
Our next regular meetings are Sept. 23 and Oct. 21 at 6:30
pm at the school. For meeting summaries, minutes, agendas and a description of
what is involved in being a school councillor, please visit the Council blog at
www.tsmscouncil.com.
See you in
September!

School Council
Update -
November
Thank you to the many parents and guardians who have
participated on the School Council this year. To date we have submitted a
resolution to our Members of Provincial Parliament and the Minister of Education
to express our concerns about disruptions in the wake of Bill 115 (an Act to implement restraint measures in the education sector). We
also completed our annual consultation for the school board about the
characteristics we desire in our school administration, and heard an impassioned
presentation from Mississauga youth worker Ken Dryfhout regarding adolescents
and keeping communication positive. Thank you, too, to Reem H. who is a new
volunteer in the Kiss and Ride drop off program.
A special note of appreciation goes to Mrs. Wagner, vice
principal. She has been a steadfast contributor to our council meetings, and has
helped us add value to special events such as the Grade 8 career day.
She will be missed at TSMS and its School Council in 2013. We wish her
the very best at her new school.
Our next regular meeting is Mon., Feb. 11, 2013 at 6:30
pm. For meeting summaries, minutes and agendas, please visit the
