Advanced Placement At Applewood Heights

 

Advanced Placement (AP) is a unique learning program that allows students to take university level courses while in high school thereby, helping students succeed at university.  It is recognized by more than 3,600 colleges and universities.  Advanced Placement Exams train students in taking high level tests, get a head start on university-level work and develop the study habits necessary for tackling rigorous course work essential for success at the tertiary level of education.  Universities in more than 55 countries recognize AP Exam scores in the admission process and/or for credit and advanced placement. 

 

In grades 9, 10 and 11 students in the Pre-AP stream will not only be prepared to meet the requirements of the Ontario Curriculum, they will also experience additional enrichment in preparation for the AP exams.

 

Students enrolled in the Grade 12 AP stream select which AP exams they plan to write during that school year.  All exams are written according to the schedule provided by the College Board.
