Sears Ontario Drama Festival - Provincial Showcase

Sears Ontario Drama Festival - Provincial Showcase

Last week, the Cawthra Park Sears Drama play, Verisimilitude, won the elite priviledge of going to the Ontario Sears Drama Festival Showcase in Chatham, Ontario.

After performing on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, the students, seventeen in total,  got to meet new people, engage in professional workshops, explore Chatham and experience all different types of theatre from eleven other schools from all around Ontario.

At the Awards Ceremony on Saturday Night, Jacob Pollard and Chester Ashby won an award of excellence for their phenomenal acting. Ethan Eng won the Cogeco Media Award for his exceptional work for the plays trailer and poster. Kat Schamel won the MIRA Award for Writing and Directing this amazing show.

Subsequently, earlier this month, show was chosen to perform at the Summerworks International Arts Festival in Toronto in August. We thank all of the cast and crew for being a part in this process, and we will aim to work just as hard next year!
