Updated assessment information and guidelines for families to support learning at home

​​Over the weekend, the Ministry of Education provided clarification regarding certain aspects of the earlier directions around assessment, evaluation and reporting. Learn what families need to know about assessment, evaluation and reporting during COVID-19 school closures. The board has also shared 10 guidelines for families to support distance learning at home. These guidelines have been translated to multiple languages and are available for families here.​

Peel board shares Community of Care Plan for continued learning and support during COVID-19 school closure.

As we look to re-start instruction on Monday, April 6, 2020, the Peel District School Board has developed A Community of Care: The Peel District School Board’s Learning and Support Plan. The plan, which is aligned with Ministry of Education requirements, is posted on the board’s website and will be updated as we adapt to this new teaching and learning environment. ​​​

Closure of Peel board schools and worksites extended to May 4, 2020

​Today, the Ministry of Education officially announced that all publicly funded schools in Ontario, including those in the Peel District School Board, will remain closed until May 4, 2020, to further prevent the spread of COVID-19. At this time, we do not know if further extensions will be announced, but commit to keeping you updated as new information becomes available​​

​Peel board playgrounds and amenities closed until further notice ​

Effectively immediately, the Peel District School Board will be closing all school playgrounds and other amenities, including sports fields, and basketball and tennis courts, on school board property until further notice. Basketball hoops will also be removed from all secondary schools to limit groups from gathering.​ Click here​ for more information.

Peel board takes immediate action on Ministry of Education Review directives

​After consultations with students, staff, families, trustees and community members, today, the Ministry of Education released its final report on the​ Peel District School Board's review.​ A joint statement from the Chair of the Board Brad MacDonald and Director of Education Peter Joshua can be found here.​​
