"Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. "

John Lubbock, Sr.

Thank you for your interest in the Regional Arts Program (RAP). We are strong believers in the power of the Arts. Art inspires and motivates learners.

Drama, Dance, Music, and Visual Art do not merely make learning fun, they enhance intelligence. For example, visual artists see and recall images and objects clearly, a skill useful in fine arts but also in math and science. Similarly, musicians hear and recall sounds clearly, a skill useful in professional orchestras but also in business and medicine. Likewise, actors develop superior recall of words and language, a skill useful to actors as well as salepeople, managers, and teachers. Last but not least, dancers have superb control of physical movement and a split second sense of timing. In fact, recent brain research identifies dance as the best activity to keep memory loss at bay. The Arts are powerful learning tools for everyone.

All who participate in the arts develop self-esteem, confidence in communication and a keen sense of social and cultural awareness; all characteristics that complement the world in all walks of life.

Our graduates go on to study in various post secondary fields, including theatre, fine arts, design, music, mathematics, dance, science, medicine, business just to name a few.

To enrich your life, choose Cawthra Park for your secondary education.
