Cawthra Park Secondary School : 2019-2020 Performance Season

 

Fall Musical – Chicago

November 28, 29 & 30, 2019 @ 7:00 p.m.                                                   $25.00 

In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal. This sharp-edged satire features an electric score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse and will be sure to have you Razzle Dazzled by the time you leave!

                               

Music Concert – 'Tis the Season 

December 11 & 12, 2019 @ 7:00 p.m.                                                          $10.00

A wonderful collection of music including holiday music, will be performed for all to enjoy.  From concert bands to choirs, classical and jazz, this seasonal spectacular cannot be missed!  The same show is on both nights, featuring all music ensembles.

 

National Theatre School Drama Pre-Fest


February 18, 19 & 20, 2020 @ 7:00 p.m.                             (All Evenings) $12.00

Student-run One-Act Play Festival over the course of two evenings. Two shows from the Cawthra Prefest will be chosen to enter the National Theatre School Festival.

 

National Theatre School Drama Festival


February 24 to 27, 2020 @ 7:00 p.m.                                 (Festival Pass) $12.00
Specific dates to be announced in the Fall , 2019
National Theatre School Festival Pass (all shows, all schools). The National Theatre School One-Act Play Festival involves schools from across Ontario competing for a place at the Provincials.

 

​Springfest Dance Showcase

April 7, 2020 @ 7:00 p.m.                                                                              $15.00

This celebration showcases the Dance Department's class work. All grade levels will perform works by faculty and guest choreographers in a variety of styles and techniques.

Springplay – 2020


April 30, May 1 & 2, 2020 @ 7:00 p.m.                                                         $20.00

Details will be announced at a later date.

 

Springfest Music Showcase      


May 6 & 7 2020 @ 7:00 p.m.                                                                         $10.00
These two nights will feature the many performing ensembles in the Music Department in two different shows. Each ensemble will play one night. Wednesday night will feature concert bands and jazz choirs, Thursday night will feature concert choirs and jazz bands.

 

Springfest Visual Arts Showcase

May 21, 2020                                                                                                      Free
This exhibit showcases creative explorations from all our Visual Arts students throughout the year. A major collection of artwork is shown. The Springfest exhibit and opening is the highlight of the year in Visual Arts, with exciting works including installations, video, performance and edible Art. All student artists will be present with their works

 

Mosaix (Dance)


May 27, 2020 @ 7:00 p.m.                                                                             $10.00
Mosaix is a Grade 12 dance project involving over 250 students. It is an exciting, innovative and emotional evening where graduating Dance students get one last chance to showcase their choreographic and performance skills.

 

Dance Repertoire Ensemble


June 11, 2020 @ 7:00 p.m.                                                                            $15.00
The Repertoire Ensemble is a group of highly motivated students who participated in our resident Dance company. The company repertoire includes a variety of pieces choreographed by guest artists, faculty members and senior students.

 

Springfest Drama – Grade 12 Play In A Day


June 12, 2020 @ 7:00 p.m.                                                                               Free
The Grade 12’s create a play from scratch in one day. Awards and student-run events round out a fun evening for the entire Drama Department.
