Summer hours at Peel board offices start July 2016

​Between July 8 and Aug. 19, 2016, the following Peel District School Board offices will be closed to the public on Fridays:

  • HJA Brown Education Centre, located at 5650 Hurontario St. in Mississauga
  • Mississauga Field Office, located at 2180 Harvest Dr. in Mississauga
  • North Field Office, located at 215 Orenda Rd. in Brampton

Board offices will be open to the public Monday to Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Regular hours resume the week of Aug. 22, 2016.

40 Hours to Graduate - Start This Summer!

Since 1999, all students in Ontario secondary schools are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement in order to receive a diploma. The purpose of this requirement is to encourage students to develop an understanding of the various roles they can play in their community. Students are encouraged to start accumulating community involvement hours in the summer before they enter grade 9.

We Welcome the World

​The Peel District School Board's We Welcome the World Centres located in Brampton, Malton and Mississauga, are the first point of contact for all newcomer families to become familiar with the educational system in Peel. The centres are open all year—including the summer months.

In addition to providing literacy and numeracy assessments, We Welcome the World Centres provide newcomers with a host of services including: reception, orientation, interpretation and referrals.

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

In October 2014, the Peel District School Board sought input from families to help guide the development of resources that help parents and caregivers support their children's learning. The result is a new Help Your Child online resource centre on the Peel board's website with the topics families said were important to them. ​​
