Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test - March 29, 2012 On Thursday March 29, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m all Grade 10 and eligible students will be writing the EQAO Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) at Chinguacousy Secondary School.

On Thursday March 29, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m all Grade 10 and eligible students will be writing the EQAO Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) at Chinguacousy Secondary School.  Only students writing the Literacy Test are to attend school that day.  Busses will pick up at the regular time in the morning and will depart Chinguacousy SS at 11:45 a.m. for the return trip home. Students have a variety of opportunities to prepared for the test.  In early March 2012, the OSSLT Committee will visit all Grade 10 classes to review the testing process. Upon return from the March Break, a mock test will be held in all Grade 10 classes during period 4 to help prepare them for March 29, 2012.  Non-Grade Ten students who are eligible can also participate in the mock test and information sessions via the guidance department.  All students writing the test will receive a letter from Chinguacousy SS in March detailing the testing process and resources.  In addition, students and their families can find a variety of resources via the OSSLT website at www.eqao.com.

Counting on You - Literacy Test Preparation
 If you would like extra help and time preparing for the Literacy Test, Counting on You will be holding literacy test preparation classes.  These classes will run every Tuesday and Thursday and begin Tuesday Feb. 14th to March 27th.  Forms can be picked up from Mrs. Lebar in the guidance office or from your homeroom teacher.  A snack and bus will be provided for regular bus students.  Attendance is mandatory. 
 
Mock Test - After March Break - Tuesday March 20, 2012
Upon return from the March Break, a mock test will be held in all Grade 9 and 10 classes during period 4 to help prepare them for the OSSLT.  Non-Grade Nine and Ten students who are eligible can also participate in the mock test and information sessions via the guidance department.
