Welcome to the English Department  

To provide today's students with full and confident participation in tomorrow's complex society, the English program nurtures and challenges students of all capabilities to become critical thinkers and effective communicators through the exploration of a broad range of both print and electronic texts.  While coming to an understanding of their roles as both Canadian and global citizens, students will be encouraged to develop a lifelong passion for reading as well as an appetite for critical discussion and examination of contemporary issues that affect us all.
