Clarkson Advisory Council - Abbreviated Minutes
November 22, 2011 - 7:00 p.m.
These are abbreviated Minutes as the regularly scheduled council meeting was deferred to
January 25, 2012, in order to accommodate a special presentation entitled 'Facebook 101' by
Chris Vollum. The presentation ran from 7-8:30 and was attended by approximately 50 parents.
A session was held during the day for students and there was positive response from both
audiences.
In attendance:
Martine Brouillet: Chair
Debi Lawrence: Treasurer
Guylaine Juteau: Secretary
Brian Hudson: Member at Large
Sue Piotrowski: Member at Large
An informal brief meeting was held after the presentation to discuss the following:
1) Bonpatron License - It was agreed we should proceed with the purchase of the BonPatron
license.
2) Gymnasium Mural - We have also agreed to allocate $1500 to the murals but would like to
see 2 other quotes before proceeding. The Head of the Physical Education department will
provide details regarding the requirements of the mural to assist obtain additional quotes.
3) Stage Spotlight - Our next goal will be to fund as much as we can of the stage spotlight.
Council has request a price update and whether anything can be purchased for less than the
original $5,000 quoted 2 years ago.
Treasurer:
• Current balance is $2,213.49
ARC (Accommodation Review Committee) - no activity pending vote in January
