Swim Team

February 15, 2012 was a phenomenal day for Clarkson athletes both in the pool and on the snow. The swim team placed fourth overall out of 33 schools at the ROPSSA championships. In the open division Pari B., Enna S., and Jen B. all had medal swims and will be going on to the OFSAA all Ontario high school  swim championships.  In the junior girls division Rachel C. was the silver girl placing second in three events and will be going on to OFSSA in the 50 m breaststroke. The relay team of Maya T. , Rosalyn G. , Hannah P. and Montana B. placed third in the medley relay and 6th in the free relay. The Junior Boys medley relay of Josh G. , Tristan W. , Riley D. and Douglas B. placed third and the free relay team which Tyler S. swam in placed 4th.  In individual events Josh G. placed 4th in the 100 IM and Douglas B. placed 4th in the 100 free. In the Senior girls division Olivia W. and Rebecca H. made finals in both the 50 and 100 m freestyle races with Olivia missing out from the medals in both events.  The relay team which was made up of Olivia, Rebecca, Rachel C. and Sandra C. placed 2nd in the free relay missing out on going to OFSSA by 9 hundredths of a second. Our only senior boy competitor Tymek K. placed second in both the 100 free and 100 back and came 4th in the 50 free. Finally in the para category Brandon G. and Adam A. placed 3rd and 4th in the 50 m free. Congratulations to all swimmers and special thanks to Troy F. ,Gavin L. , Garret K., ,Emily H. and Brianna L. for volunteering their time to help the team.

Nordic Ski Team

The Nordic team finished off a very successful season sending three skiers  Robert S., Arleigh H. and Nathan S. off to OFSSA next week in Huntsville. Clarkson should be extremely proud of Robert S. who won the Senior Boys division and is the ROPSSAA Champion and Arleigh's seventh place finish in the Senior Girls division. Congratulations should be extended to all the skiers--many of them were novices this year, totally new to this sport and each meet incredible improvements were seen.

Amazing results Chargers!  We might be a small school in size but a so very big in talent!
