Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) – General information
Eligible students will write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test on
Thursday March 30, 2017.
Only students writing the test should attend school on this day. If your child is writing the test this year, they will receive a letter providing them with further details about the test.
Students write the OSSLT in grade 10. If students are not successful on their first attempt they will be given an opportunity to re-write the test in grade 11. Students who are not successful on a second attempt are encouraged to take the Grade 12 Literacy Course. Either successful completion of the test or the course is required for graduation.
- The OSSTL measures whether or not students are meeting the minimum standard for literacy across all subjects up to the end of grade 9.
- All students can also practice for the literacy test online at www.eqao.com
