Fletcher's Meadow S.S. Parent School Council

As a School Council, it is our right to have our voices heard on educational matters involving our children and our school. The Fletcher's Meadow Parent School Council provides an opportunity to get valuable information and clarification where needed, and to contribute to the development of our school. We would love to have your interest and input. We need you to get involved...and so do your kids.

Purpose


The purpose of a School Council is to improve student achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.

Become part of the Fletcher's Meadow School Council. The council is an advisory group to the Principal. It is made up of parents, staff, students and community members.

Being a part of the School Council provides an excellent opportunity to be aware of, and influence, the policies that will help to shape our education system and Fletchers Meadow, in particular.

Each Peel board school has a school council—a group focused on helping students succeed.

Councils offer advice to the school principal on a number of topics. In Peel, most of the work of councils focuses on three main areas: school community communication strategies, ways of responding to parents and the community and school code of behaviour. School councils include parents, school staff, community representatives and, in some cases, students.

We welcome and encourage the participation of parents and community members in our schools, and on councils.
