ONTARIO COLLEGE FAIR!

The Ontario College Fair 2012 will be held on October 23rd from 10am - 7pm at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place.

This is a great opportunity for parents and students to get your questions answered in person by representatives from Ontario colleges.

Please check the bulletin board in Student Services regularly and listen to morning announcements for updates. You don't want to miss crucial deadlines because you do not have a home form!

Be sure to attend the open house at the school of your choice (see attached file).

How To Locate and Explore a College Program

Option A

Go to www.ontariocolleges.on.ca

Click on FIND in order to access college programs.

Go to Keyword and type in a program that interests you i.e. practical nursing. From the list that appears, choose a college by clicking on it. (If no entries appear, try a different term for the same program or refer to "Find a Program Guide"

Click on admission requirements. Note program eligibility (prerequisites). Also, note any additional requirements (i.e. for practical nursing, you must submit a Health assessment form)

Read program description & program of study to determine if it is right for you.

Option B

Using a copy of "Find a Program Guide", locate the program of your choice.

Determine the college(s) where the program is offered by looking across the table. The definitions for all of the symbols that you see in the table are at the bottom of each page.

Once you know where the program is offered, google the college website or look at the program guide for that college. Find out what the prerequisites are.

You also need to start looking at how to finance your college education. As a starting point, go to the following website for assistance:
