Student Awards and Recognition

At our school we have many positive achievements to celebrate. Visit this page to learn what great things our students are up to.

 

Principal's Award Receptions  

 

Once each semester,  the Principal hosts an awards reception to honour those students nominated by staff  who have contributed to the good of the school, shown kindness to their peers or contributed in a positive way to the neighbourhood community. 

 

 

Annual Awards Assembly recognizing student achievement from the previous school year 

 

Activity Awards

Awarded in recognition of student participation in extra curricular activities. Students earn one point for every hour they commit to a team, club or other approved extra curricular activity.

 

                                                          There are five levels of achievement 

 

Junior Activity Awards are presented to students who earn 25 points, equivalent to 250 hours of participation in teams and clubs

 

Senior Activity Awards are presented to students who earn 40 points, equivalent to 400 hours of participation in teams and clubs

 

The Hawk Activity Awards are presented to students who earn 70 points, equivalent to 700 hours of

participation in teams and clubs

 

The Club Activity Awards are presented to students who earn 85 points, equivalent to 850 hours of commitment to non athletic organizations at Graydon

 

The Athletic Letter Awards are presented to students who students 85 points, equivalent to 850 hours of commitment to athletic organizations at Graydon

 

 

Honour Roll Awards

Awarded to students who have earned an average of 80% in all of their subjects in the academic year

Smith Book Award

Presented to an outstanding young woman from Grade 11 who exemplifies the academic achievement, leadership qualities and concern for others that is valued by Smith College.

 

Tiffany Wilson Award

Presented to the top two students who successfully completed the Graydon parenting course and demonstrated outstanding future parenting skills.

 

Robert F Thomas Staff Award

Presented to the top male and female student in Grades 9 to 11 in recognition of outstanding achievement in all courses.

 

 

 

Special Student Awards presented to graduating students at our annual Commencement Ceremony

 

50th Anniversary Award

Awarded to a deserving grad from the college or vocational level who is moving on to a college program.  Student should have demonstrated improvement in academics and/or attitude and commitment and self direction.

 

Andrea Bagetta Award

Awarded to an honour student going to college or university who has shown leadership and spirit, contributed to athletic program and team sports, is respected and well-liked by students and staff, and possesses personal integrity and dignity.

 

Karen DeAngelis Memorial Award

Presented to an exceptional student who has demonstrated determination, perseverance and love of school.

 

Lion's Club of Credit Valley Award

Awarded to a successful student entering college or university who has financial need.

 

Rotary Club of Port Credit Citizenship Award

Awarded to a grad who demonstrated leadership inside and outside of school.

 

Michael Ford Memorial Award

Awarded to a grad who demonstrates academic excellence, school involvement and is entering a post secondary Business program.

 

Colonel Alex Thomson Memorial Award

Awarded to a grad who in four years at Graydon has excelled in Canadian Studies and is moving onto higher education in Canadian Studies.

 

Principal's Awards

Awarded to 8-12 students with strong academics, who have made a significant contribution to extra-curricular activities and promoted positive attitude and values among fellow students.

 

Principal's Award for Student Leadership

Awarded to a male and female graduate who have demonstrated strong leadership within the school.

 

Governor General Medal

Awarded to the student with the highest overall grade 12 average.

 

Britannia Award

Presented to a vocational student who has demonstrated perseverance.

 

Rotary Club Academic Award

Awarded to a student with strong academics and financial need.

 

Church of St. Luke Hospitality Award

Awarded to student who is furthering his/her studies in the field of hospitality.

 

Theatre Graydon Award

Awarded to a student who has demonstrated dedication to drama in his/her years at Graydon.

 

Helen Dyche Memorial Award
