Harold M. Brathwaite Students Learn With Their Australian Peers In A Live Video Conference
|
On Thursday December 15 at 4:00 pm, students from the Grade 12 Philosophy class took part in a video conference with students from Bathurst High in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. Geoff Hastings, Principal of Bathurst High, is on leave from his school and has been a frequent visitor to HMBSS this semester, exploring the Ontario education system and how things are done in the Peel District School Board. Students had a lively discussion about everything from how the two education systems work in the two countries to sports and popular culture. In the end, students from both schools agreed to hold more video conferences next semester, including organized debates and opportunities for the HMBSS student council to pair with the Bathurst High student council to engage in mutual initiatives. Congratulations to all for a successful international connection!
