Hold and secure lifted at Harold M. Brathwaite SS and Great Lakes PS

At about 1:30 p.m., police directed Harold M. Brathwaite SS and Great Lakes PS into hold and secure, as a precautionary measure, while they conduct an investigation in the community. As part of the hold and secure protocol, all doors are locked so no one can enter or exit the building. The schools remained secured until about 2:05 p.m. when the schools were assured by police that it was safe to return to regular school routines. All staff and students are safe. Harold M. Brathwaite students were already dismissed due to an early release day today, but there were still staff and students inside the building. A message will be sent home today.

Well in Peel: The Attitude of Gratitude

What is Gratitude?

Gratitude is all about focusing on what's good in your life. It is paying attention to the things that we can sometimes take for granted, especially when we are feeling stressed. There are many different words that can describe feelings of gratitude, including feeling thankful, lucky, or fortunate. An attitude of gratitude involves actively choosing to acknowledge and appreciate the things you are thankful for in life. By making a focused effort to reflect on the positive parts of your day, the stressors you face can begin to feel a little less overwhelming.
