Summer and Night School

Summer School and Night School credits are offered through the Peel board’s Continuing Education department.

Summer School

Summer School credits are offered in class or online to both Peel and non-Peel students. Both credit and non-credit English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are available through Summer School and require teacher recommendation. The admission procedures for each program may vary.

Both Peel and non-Peel residents may attend credit Summer School in class and/or through online credit courses. They may also attend non-credit ESL Summer School. The admission procedures for each program may vary.

Night School

Want to take Night School courses? Registration takes place each year in September and January/February.

 Use Student Web ​

(found on bottom right of home page of hmbss.com).  



Using the navigation bar on the left, click Summer School.

The Summer School link will only be available during the registration period.(see dates below)

  1. Using the grey subject tabs, or the Next and Previous buttons, move to the subject area that you'd like to select a course from.
  2. Click the Locations button, to the right of the course code that you want to register for.
  3. Review the course description and course pre-requisites.
  4. Select the location where you'd like to enrol and click Register. If there are no more seats available at that site, a Wait List button will be available instead; click this to join the wait list for the course, at this location.
  5. After registering for a course, or joining a wait list, you will be returned to the course selection screen; The option you have selected is finalized, pending approval by your counsellor.

Note: Students are encouraged to log back into this website to check their enrolment status.


Deleting a Course:

If you need to withdraw from a course you have registered for, please see your school counsellor.


Registration Verification Forms:

Following the on-line Summer School registration period, your school counsellors will print out registration verification forms. This will be emailed to you the second week of June


General Information

  • Students may enroll in one (1) full-session in-class course (or two half-session courses) OR one (1) full-session Peel eLearning-Summer course only - NOT BOTH.
  • All sections are conditional on enrolment and teacher availability, and are subject to cancellation.
  • If a section is cancelled, the student will receive an email via their PDSB Gmail account (student#@pdsb.net) and may be contacted through his/her Guidance Counsellor up to June 12th . Continuing Education will continue to contact students about changes after that date.
  • Students are strongly encouraged to check their Student Web account for their registration status with respect to wait lists, and to monitor course updates posted on our website​ and Twi​tter (@Peel_ConEd).
  • Students who have a change of plans and will not be attending Summer School are required to have their Guidance Counsellor remove them from the course.
  • REMINDER: Make-up credit courses (55 hours) are open only to students who have completed the same course during the regular school year, but have not earned the credit. It will be at the discretion of the day-school Principal or designate as to whether the student can take the 55-hour course, or would be best to complete the full 110 hours. Students who have earned the credit but who wish to upgrade their mark MUST complete the 110-hour Summer School course​

eLearning   ​Thursday, July 2 – Wednesday, July 29, 2020, inclusive
Co-op     ​Monday, June 29 – Friday, July 31, 2020, excluding Canada Day.
ESL   ​Thursday, July 2 – Wednesday, July 29, 2020, inclusive from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Study/Travel  ​Civics and Careers: EduTravel will present at the Information Nights.​​
