​FSF1D0  Grade 9 Academic French

This course helps further develop your speaking, reading, and writing in French. You will build on and use your knowledge of French while exploring different topics, like relationships, social trends, and careers. Different readings, like short stories, articles, and poems, will serve as stepping stones to other speaking and writing activities.

Prerequisite:  None

 

 

FSF1P0  Grade 9 Applied French

This course helps develop your speaking, reading, and writing skills in French, using different themes and ideas. You will improve your ability to understand and speak French through conversations, discussions, and presentations. You will also read short stories, articles, poems, and songs, and write descriptions, letters, dialogues, and invitations.

Prerequisite:  None

 

 

FSF2D0  Grade 10 Academic French

This course helps you to keep improving your speaking, reading, and writing skills in French, while deepening your understanding and appreciation of francophone culture around the world. Exploring a variety of themes, you will develop and apply critical thinking skills in discussion, analysis and interpretation of other people’s writing and media, and in your own writing.

Perquisites: FSF1P0 or FSF1D0

 

 

FSF2P0  Grade 10 Applied French

This course continues to help you improve your speaking, reading, and writing skills in French, using different themes and ideas. You will expand your vocabulary and skill by studying a series of theme-related topics, like students’ rights and responsibilities, relationships with peers and adults, and part-time jobs.

Perquisites: FSF1P0 or FSF1D0

FSF3U0  Grade 11 University French

This course uses a variety of topics to promote extensive improvement of your reading and writing skills and to reinforce your speaking skills. You will gain a greater understanding of French-speaking cultures in Canada and around the world through reading many different materials, including a short novel or a play. You will do different written assignments, including a formal essay. The use of correct grammar and language conventions in both spoken and written French is important throughout the course.

Prerequisite: FSF2D0 or FSF2DE

 

 

FSF4U0  Grade 12 University French

This course draws on many different themes to promote extensive development of your French language skills. You will consolidate your oral skills as you discuss literature, culture, and current issues. You will read a number of different texts and write a formal essay. The use of correct grammar and appropriate language conventions in both spoken and written French will be emphasized throughout the course.
