Update regarding status of negotiations with Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation

​Bargaining between the province and unions representing public servants, including teachers and school support staff, has been underway since the fall of 2014. Contracts have expired and are currently being bargained, as outlined in the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act, 2014Central bargaining has been taking place between the province, unions and the Ontario Public School Boards' Association (OPSBA), which represents public school boards at the provincial table. The Peel District School Board has been actively negotiating on local issues with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF). On February 25, 2015, OSSTF-Peel (representing secondary teachers) filed for local conciliation with the Ministry of Labour for both secondary teachers and secondary occasional teachers.

Letter to families about updated health & physical education curriculum

​The Ministry of Education recently released its revised Health & Physical Education (HPE) curriculum, which all Ontario schools are required to implement beginning in September 2015. We want to ensure all Peel families have the information they need to help them understand the changes and learn how the curriculum will be taught in the classroom.

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

In October 2014, the Peel District School Board sought input from families to help guide the development of resources that help parents and caregivers support their children's learning. The result is a new Help Your Child online resource centre on the Peel board's website with the topics families said were important to them. ​​

LP Student Chloe Batista awarded $100,000 Loran Scholarship !

​Chloe Batista has been awarded the Loran Scholarship for 2015 ! 

Chloe was picked from over 3800 students from across Canada and was one of only 2 students in Peel to win this award !

Chloe will get upto $100,000 to support her post secondary studies and will have opportunites for summer internships with established Canadian leaders ! Way to go, Chloe !!
