Extra Curricular Activities

Louise Arbour Secondary School is known for the wide range of extra curricular activities that we offer from sports teams, to leadership clubs.  Some LASS teams hold try-outs, such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, cricket, etc., while others are open to anyone who is interested, like cross country or track and field.  Along with competitive teams, and a fantastic weight room that students can use before or after school, our Eagles' Athletic Club organizes intramurals throughout the year.  Follow @LASSeagles for more information on tryouts, teams, intramurals, and athletic clubs like the EAC or Team Crew.  Along with a great athletic program, LASS staff sponser a wide array of clubs that allow students to indulge in their passions for their favourite subjects like choir and band, the art club, drama club, the DECA team, Dance Club, First robotics, STEM and science olympics, and the Math League to name a few.  For students who are interested in citizenship or leadership opportunities, we certainly have that too in clubs like the Student Council, Eco-Squad, our school paper The Advocate, Peer Tutoring, and our Ambassadors.  This is far from a comprehensive list of all of the extra curriculars that students can choose from at LASS. Our extra curricular fair will be held on Friday September 11, 2015 so that all students will be able to get more information about our activities and students can always ask a teacher for advice about clubs that they might like.  Students are encouraged to participate in at least one activity each year because it truly does enhance the high school experience!

At our school, a number of exciting things happen on a daily basis. Students have the opportunity to participate in a number of school-wide activities, including athletics, extracurricular clubs, yearbook and student activity council, to name a few.

To see examples of some of our students’ great work, visit our Student Showcase page and Student Awards and Recognition.
