The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Information Communication and Technology (ICT) program is offered at Meadowvale Secondary School. The program is offered with University or College/Apprenticeship destinations in grades 11 and 12. Over these two years, students will be certified and trained in CPR, Standard First Aid, and WHMIS, as well as three other elective certifications. They will also have opportunities for Reach Ahead experiences in the technology industry, as well as opportunities to visit colleges and universities that offer related programs.
The bundle of courses that are required for the program would be of particular interest to students who are considering a career in:
• Computer Systems (e.g., computer engineering, technical support, electronics, robotics, network engineering)
• Computer Software (e.g., computer programming, computer and video games, simulations, computer animation, data management, web design, web portals, Internet security, graphic artistry).

Students who are interested in the ICT SHSM program can fill in the following application, and return to their guidance counsellor or the Head of Alternative programs. Students should be sure to choose the correct courses in MyBlueprint during course selection, including two or four credit co-op during their Grade 11 year.
