The History & Social Science Department is committed to providing students with the opportunity to develop critical thinking and learning skills that will allow students to synthesize information, make informed decisions, communicate effectively, and thrive in an ever-changing global community. Our program of study integrates 21st century learning and a variety of technological applications to help students build a better understanding of both historical and current events and how they shape our society locally, nationally and globally.
In addition to the mandatory Grade 10 Canadian History and Grade 10 Civics courses, we also offer a wide variety of history, law and social science courses at the senior level including:

Many of our courses also provide the opportunity for students to engage in meaningful experiences outside of the classroom to support the goals of the curriculum. Possible field trips include:
