​Earn your volunteer hours by participating in activites and events from the following organziations. Don't forget to record your hours using the PDSB community involvement activity record form.

 

 

Safe City Mississauga

Volunteers needed for elementary school students. Please visit the SafeCity Mississauga website to complete a Volunteer Application.

 

The Walk to Fight Arthritis

The Arthritis Society is seeking volunteers for its signature event. Please visit The Walk to Fight Arthritis' website to volunteer for the 2018 event. There are many volunteer opportunities, including registration, route marshals, set-up, check points and entertainment.

 

The Mikey Network

High school students have the opportunity to earn volunteer hours by learning CPR/AED online and through our free mobile app.  Through the Mikey Young At Heart Program, students can earn volunteer hours by participating in a series of short videos and quizzes that will provide the knowledge needed to feel comfortable performing CPR our using and AED.

 

Mississauga Marathon

This year's (2019) Mississauga Marathon weekend takes place from Friday, May 3rd to Sunday, May 5th.  Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles.

 

Toronto Triathlon Festival

This year's (2018) Toronto Triathlon Festival takes place from Friday, July 20th to Sunday, July 22nd. Volunteers are needed for many roles.

 

PLASP Child Care Services

PLASP Child Care Services  is a not-for-profit, community-based, charitable organization, that provides care and early learning to children.

PLASP volunteers are:

  • male and female, 13 years and older
  • interested in volunteering with children
  • are always with PLASP staff (and never left alone with a child or a group of children)
  • typically participate from 3:30pm to 5:45pm one day a week in an after school program at a local elementary school

All volunteers receive training by participating in a comprehensive orientation and games workshop before they begin. 

 

Volunteer MBC

Volunteer MBC is a Volunteer Centre that fosters and develops volunteerism in the Region of Peel, serving the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, and the Town of Caledon, by raising awareness of the power of service.

 

Habitat for Hummanity

A community volunteer organization dedicated to building affordable housing. 

 

Credit Valley Conservation

The Credit Valley Conservation is looking for students to contribute their time and energy to a variety of volunteer opportunities. Whether you want to get outdoors to get your hands dirty for a morning, help the monitoring of our natural areas, plan a fundraising event, educate the public, or just generally learn about and help protect the environment, the Credit Valley Conservation wants you to volunteer! 

 

Muslimfest

MuslimFest celebrates the best in Muslim arts and entertainment. The event features over 50 local and international artists who showcase their talent in various areas. Concerts featuring popular Muslim artists, comedy shows, a multicultural bazaar, and a kids carnival constitute some of the fun things one can expect at MuslimFest.

 

Epic Tour Halton

Various volunteer opportunties are availale for this cycling event in early September.

 

Living Arts Centre, Mississauga

The Living Arts Centre recruits numerous youth to help with their Camps, Community Courses, Front of House, and Special Events every year. The program is designed to aid all students in the completion of their required volunteer service hours while gaining valuable worlplace experience in a fun and positive setting. 

 

ICNA Relief Canada

ICNA Relief Canada is part of a global humanitarian relief and development organization responding to human suffering in emergency and disaster situations around the world. In addition to its emergency relief efforts, resulting from natural or human-caused catastrophes, the organization also maintains long term aid and development programs.  .


Mississauga Food Bank

The Mississauga Food Bank is the central food bank in Mississauga, providing food for over 217,000 meals each month through a network of 50 member agencies. Learn about volunteer opportunities by visting the Mississauga Foodbank website.


Seva Food Bank

The Seva Food Bank provides safe, nutritious and culturally-appropriate food to low-income families living in seven postal codes across Mississauga. We also coordinate a wide range of programs that help our clients address the causes and consequences of hunger and poverty.
