The Walk to Fight Arthritis
The Arthritis Society is seeking volunteers for its signature event. Please visit The Walk to Fight Arthritis' website to volunteer for the 2017 event. There are many volunteer opportunities, including registration, route marshals, set-up, check points and entertainment.
The Mikey Network
High school students have the opportunity to earn volunteer hours by learning CPR/AED online and through our free mobile app. Through the Mikey Young At Heart Program, students can earn volunteer hours by participating in a series of short videos and quizzes that will provide the knowledge needed to feel comfortable performing CPR our using and AED.
Canadian National Exhibition
Friends of the CNE is a program introduced to provide volunteers an opportunity to actively participate in hosting Canada's largest community event while earning valuable work experience, making new friends, and having fun.
Our guests' experience begins from the time they enter our gates and the Friends of the CNE are there to offer a warm welcome and provide guests with a copy of the daily schedule of the day's events as well as general and directional information. Our volunteers also have opportunities to assist staff with various receptions and events during the 18 days of the fair.
This year's (2017) Mississauga Marathon weekend takes place from Friday, May 5th to Sunday, May 7th. Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles.
Toronto Triathlon Festival
This year's (2017) Toronto Triathlon Festival takes place from Friday, July 21st to Sunday, July 23rd. Volunteers are needed for many roles.
PLASP Child Care Services
PLASP Child Care Services is a not-for-profit, community-based, charitable organization, that provides care and early learning to children.
PLASP volunteers are:
- male and female, 13 years and older
- interested in volunteering with children
- are always with PLASP staff (and never left alone with a child or a group of children)
- typically participate from 3:30pm to 5:45pm one day a week in an after school program at a local elementary school
All volunteers receive training by participating in a comprehensive orientation and games workshop before they begin.
Volunteer MBC is a Volunteer Centre that fosters and develops volunteerism in the Region of Peel, serving the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, and the Town of Caledon, by raising awareness of the power of service.

Credit Valley Conservation
The Credit Valley Conservation is looking for students to contribute their time and energy to a variety of volunteer opportunities. Whether you want to get outdoors to get your hands dirty for a morning, help the monitoring of our natural areas, plan a fundraising event, educate the public, or just generally learn about and help protect the environment, the Credit Valley Conservation wants you to volunteer!
MuslimFest celebrates the best in Muslim arts and entertainment. The event features over 50 local and international artists who showcase their talent in various areas. Concerts featuring popular Muslim artists, comedy shows, a multicultural bazaar, and a kids carnival constitute some of the fun things one can expect at MuslimFest.

Living Arts Centre, Mississauga
The Living Arts Centre recruits numerous youth to help with their Camps, Community Courses, Front of House, and Special Events every year. The program is designed to aid all students in the completion of their required volunteer service hours while gaining valuable worlplace experience in a fun and positive setting.
Ontario Special Olympics
The 2017 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Summer Games will bring approximately 1800 athletes, coaches and families to the Region of Peel, Ontario. To ensure the games will provide “the best experience ever”, approximately 600 volunteers to make this happen.
Volunteer Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 16 years of age to volunteer.
- Children aged 10-16 may volunteer with a parent or guardian in the Family Volunteer Program
- Must complete a Criminal Records Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
- Must be able to commit a minimum of 4 hours to the Games
- Must complete an online training Session prior to Orientation Session
- Must attend one In-Person Volunteer Orientation Session in June
The North American Indigenous Games
The North American Indigenous Games is the largest continental sporting and cultural gathering of Indigenous people, welcoming more than 5,000 athletes, 2,000 volunteers and a number of spectators and dignitaries from across North America. From July 16 – 23, 2017, the City of Toronto will be the proud Host City to the 2017 North American Indigenous Games.
ICNA Relief Canada
ICNA Relief Canada is part of a global humanitarian relief and development organization responding to human suffering in emergency and disaster situations around the world. In addition to its emergency relief efforts, resulting from natural or human-caused catastrophes, the organization also maintains long term aid and development programs.
