NEW -  Course Change Requests for Semester 2 (2017-2018)


IMPORTANT! Use your school google email account when you sign into Google. That is your account.




Before submitting a Course Change Request, students must check what courses are currently on their timetable. Students can do this by going to their Student Web (SIS) Account. Go to the SLSS home page, click on Student Life → STUDENT LOGIN → Student Login on the top left (Student Id is your student #, Password is the same you use to login to computers at SLSS, BYOD etc.). You will see a list of your current courses. 


Priority is given to Course Change Requests that meet one or more of the following criteria:


1. Diploma Requirement (required to achieve 30 Credits; compulsory credit etc.)

2. Post Secondary/Pathway Prerequisite Requirement

3. Level Change  (academic ↔ applied;  college ↔ university)

4. Course has already been earned (earned credit at Summer School,  Night School etc.)

5. No Prerequisite  (ex., SCH 4U on timetable but has not earned "SCH 3U")


A reminder that these are course change REQUESTS and may not be possible. All changes are dependent on available space in a class and whether or not the change works with the rest of the courses on a student's timetable.


The expectation is that students have a full time schedule. This means that Grade 9, 10, and 11 students have 4 courses per semester and Grade 12 students have at least 3 courses per semester. Make sure your request does not affect your full time status.


Students can check the status of their course change request by accessing their Student Web (SIS) Account.  Should a request meet the criteria yet NOT be changed before the end of January, students are encouraged to speak with a counselor.

will close at 4pm on Thursday January 18th.

Course selection is a continual process and should be based on an individual student's interests, abilities and goals. To assist with this process, students are strongly encouraged to speak to their teachers about proposed classes, read course descriptions online or in the Common Course Calendar, talk to their counsellors and parents, and speak to students who have previously taken these classes. Students choose their classes online—a password is required which can be obtained through the school.

Course Changes

Once a student chooses a course, they are expected to remain enrolled in that course, unless there are special circumstances. Students are encouraged to speak to their teachers and counsellors, should any difficulties and/or challenges arise.
