IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR FAMILIES: Strike by Peel secondary teachers, secondary schools closed to students as of May 4, 2015

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF) has notified us that their members—secondary teachers and secondary occasional teachers—will be on strike effective May 4, 2015. Our concern is the safety of our students and we want you to clearly understand the status of our schools during any strike action.

Since we cannot ensure the safety of students during a secondary teachers' strike, we have no choice but to close all Peel board secondary schools (grades 9 to 12) to students as of May 4, 2015. Please do not send your teen to school during the strike.

Parent resources help you support your child’s learning

In October 2014, the Peel District School Board sought input from families to help guide the development of resources that help parents and caregivers support their children's learning. The result is a new Help Your Child online resource centre on the Peel board's website with the topics families said were important to them.
