At West Credit Secondary School, we have much to be proud of.
Our student population is varied. Some of our students work towards a Certificate of Education and then move into the world of work. Some of our students work towards their Diploma and move onto an apprenticeship or college program upon graduation. It is our goal to encourage all of our students to “Pursue Their Passion” and to find something meaningful to engage in beyond high school. While many of our students struggle with the challenge of the Literacy Test in Grade 10, by the time they do finish grade 12, they are able to find success through the Ontario Literacy Course which demonstrates their knowledge and skill when they are ready to graduate.
EQAO is just one measure of education quality—it’s only one picture of how our students are doing. What’s important about provincial testing is the way we use the results to improve teaching and learning. We review our instructional practices on an ongoing basis, including differentiated instruction and assessment for learning, to ensure our students have the support they need to boost their success and overall achievement.
