At Queen Elizabeth Senior Public School we are committed to providing
our students with a well-rounded educational experience in a safe and caring
environment. We strive for excellence in academics and citizenship through a
collective commitment to meeting students needs and building on their strengths.
In order to make this happen we have moved forward to build and
implement a program that addresses our challenges from the ground up. All sound
teaching practices are developed around a scaffolding that works on teaching the
basics first and then moving forward to explore the infinite possibilities that
can be achieved. As a result, we have implemented a Character Education Program
throughout the school.
Using our Character Education Program will help us develop fundamental
virtues through a variety of approaches. It will also will enable us to reach
every child in our school because it allows for flexibility of delivery through
the use of an array of resources, which will appeal to the range of learners
that we have within our school.
Our Character Education Program will focus on a different virtue or
character trait each month. The activities will be delivered in homeroom
advisor/advisee periods, as well as through a variety of other activities,
performances and workshops that we will arrange throughout the
year.We feel that it is important to build on our experiences,
while at the same time making sure we develop our ground-up approach so that we
can achieve the type of community that will enable students to learn an prosper
in a safe and caring environment.
