Review our Family Handbook for PDSB Online School

Review our Family Handbook for PDSB Online School

For PDSB Online School families only: As we prepare for the first day of online classes on Sept. 21 for elementary students (kindergarten to grade 8) and Sept. 22 for secondary students (grade 9 to 12), the board has developed a Family Handbook to support families and each student's learning needs. This handbook provides an overview of what you can expect as your child/teen engages in distance learning only from home.

Update: Reorganization plans for elementary schools

Every school year, school boards undergo a reorganization in mid-September so that class sizes meet requirements set by the Ministry of Education. View a letter from the Interim Director of Education about this year's reorganization process.

IMPT UPDATE for PDSB Online School families

IMPT UPDATE for PDSB Online School families

Over the last few days, we have seen a significant increase in families switching from in-person learning to the PDSB Online School. We now have over 64,000 students enrolled online, which is an increase of over 10,000 students in the last week.

Due to this recent increase in online enrolment, we require additional time to staff online classes and reconfigure timetables to ensure an equitable and successful start for all staff and students online. As a result, we have made some changes to the PDSB Online School experience for this upcoming week.

Dear Hawthorn Families,

We are trying to develop many different ways to communicate with our families.  One such way is through Twitter where you can get daily information about what is happening at your child's school by following Hawthorn  on twitter @Hawthornps.  In addition to important information.  This is another way for you to be in touch with what is going on at the school.

Below is a direct link to twitter where you can set up an account.  Once that is done you can follow us by searching our name @Hawthornps.  There is also a direct link to our twitter account on the Hawthorn website http://hawthorn.peelschools.org .  In the top right corner there you will see the twitter symbol ( a small bird).  Once you click on that it will go directly to our twitter account.  We hope to get as many families singed up as possible.
