Our Mission

Our mission describes our school's purpose. Our vision depicts our desired future. The principles needed to achieve our mission and vision are articulated in our values. Finally, the actions we need to demonstrate to make our mission, vision and values a reality are described in our collective commitments.

We have developed these statements in collaboration with our staff, students and families. They are part of our School Success Plan.


We are a learning community working together to create a safe and inclusive environment where children develop the skills to be lifelong learners and reach their full potential.

Staff Commitments

  • promote a positive school climate with a focus on healthy living and physical activity
  • provide varied approaches to student learning, honour individuality, and foster creative thinkers in order for them to achieve personal success
  • teach children the skils and strategies for solving problems independently
  • model, teach, and encourage respectful attitudes and behaviours
  • promote open communication between home and school through newsletters, agendas, interviews, e-mails, and phone calls with parents

Student Commitments

  • get a good nights sleep and eat a healhy breakfast so we can come to school ready to do our best
  • arrive on time, organized and ready to learn
  • show initiative on tasks and complete homework assignments
  • follow all school rules and listen to our teachers
  • be kind and respectful to others

Parent Commitments

  • send our children to school on time, dressed appropriately, properly fed and well rested so that they are prepared to learn
  • respond to teacher requests for conferences and act as an advocate on behalf of our children throughout the school year
  • act as positive role models for our children demonstrating respect for self, teachers and others
  • participate in school events, meetings and fundraising initiatives
  • monitor and encourage homework completion and plan extracurricular experiences that support their learning
