About IB at William G Davis
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) uses the Ontario Curriculum in a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. The program helps students learn with a global perspective and context, while developing their critical thinking skills.
The Peel board offers the regional IBMYP program at W.G. Davis Sr. Public School (a certified IB World School) for students north of the 401 and Bristol Road Middle School (currently entering the candidacy phase) for students south of the 401.
The International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) is a rigorous program leading to assessments in six subject areas. IB offers a challenging curriculum, taught by accredited IB teachers. The program is noted for its depth and its international perspective. The IB Middle Years program provides a coherent and demanding educational experience across the full curriculum and requires IB students to engage in community service, individual research, and an inquiry into the nature of knowledge.
Students who attend a Regional Learning Choices Program in middle school – grades 6, 7 or 8 – will not automatically be accepted into the same program for high school. They must apply to the secondary program in the same way all other students are applying and participate in the same assessment process.
