Secondary family information about active screening and masking

During the week of Feb. 16, under the direction of Peel Public Health, the Peel District School Board began the process of Active Screening for returning secondary staff and students. Active screening is the use of a screening tool and the completion is verified (green checkmark and date) every day by school staff.

Action for parents/guardians:

1. From home, students must screen daily using the COVID-19 screening tool, carefully considering all symptoms and questions. You may use this link: COVID-19 Screening Tool. (Students who do not have access to a phone or would prefer not to use their phone, have been provided with a paper copy of the screen that requires a daily signature).

2. If your teen has symptoms, they must be kept home.

3. If your teen has no symptoms, students should take a screenshot of the results page and take it to school daily.

4. If your teen forgets to bring their clearance, they will not be able to enter the class until they complete the screen and verify it with their teacher.

Continued mandatory masking:

ALL students are required to wear masks indoors and outdoors, as well as during arrival and departure, while on school property. As a result, parents/guardians may wish to provide their teen with an additional mask(s) to ensure that they have a dry mask when needed.
