Regional Strings Program

The Central Peel Regional Strings Program provides students with the opportunity to study a string instrument during their high school career. Students may choose from the Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass. This is the first strings program offered to secondary school students in the northern area of  the Peel District School Board. We offer instruction from beginner to highly advanced in order to accommodate all performance levels.

Students will focus on mastering their string instrument of choice with instruction provided by an accomplished strings teacher. Students will perform in solo settings as well as small and large ensembles. Other enrichment activities include music theory, ear training, improvisation and composition. As part of the Central Peel Regional Strings program, students will collaborate with other instrumentalists, creating an orchestral experience unique in the Peel region.

Some of our musical enhancements include things such as:

  • Guest performers in concerts, coaching sessions, and master classes
  • Workshops with professional musicians
  • Virtual events with guests from around the world
  • Live concerts and rehearsals
  • Performances in the community
