1. SAC President Report
Kidfest was successful with craft station, Anna Elsa and Santa, cookie decorating.
Giving Tree not as big a success as last year. Mittens and other items were donated
to refugee family.
Winter Wonder Week: Egg nog flip, karaoke, Talent show Friday before break
where local and international students participated.

Upcoming – Chinese New Year celebration Feb 7, SAC and International Students
working on the event, food ordered.
Exams: Sending out tips on Instagram. Project Unity Grade 9 students brought in
therapy dogs, zumba, give aways during exam period to help students relax.
Peel Schools President Councils: Meet once per month, Feb meeting will include
younger grade members of Council so that they can understand the PSPC.
Monthly email blast has the most information on upcoming events and is distributed
widely.
To set up a club students can go to office with their suggested club idea and a staff
member can be found to support the topic.
Intramurals are twice per week and weight room twice per week.
2. Principals Report
Field has been delayed due to late design and tender. Some testing of soils has
started. Currently three months behind.
Europe trip in April.
Mindfulness Without Borders will be coming in to facilitate sessions with students
about reducing stress and managing difficult situations, for staff and students. It is
part of the Wellness theme. They meet every few weeks until the end of the year.
DECA – Business competition. Going to Toronto for provincial competition.
Football North recruitment will be starting. We have 50 students here for LEEP
program, likely 50-70 students for next year for a younger team. Extra students give
CSS opportunity to increase course options. Two Football North students have been
offered scholarships in USA.
Total CSS enrolment: 833 students. 56 staff.
Free the Children have been doing lots of fundraising. Sobey’s will support an
assembly in recognition of their work.
Assembly planned for Black History Month.
Feb 16, 20 grade nines will go to Power Up Conference on technology put on by
PDSB.
Art therapy will be running at lunchtime.
Clarkson Swim Team doing very well.
3. Treasurer’s Report
$272.29 in fund, plus $500 in parent engagement account.
Possible use of parent engagement funds, could go to music program who are
looking for new keyboards. Funds should be spent by end of May. Sandra will check
criteria.
We need to watch for notification to apply for Parent Engagement funds.
Council members should bring purchase ideas to March meeting.
4. Criteria for Bursaries
“Student has achieved their secondary school diploma, has enrolled in post
secondary education, either apprenticeship, college or university. The student has
financial need.”
Guidance and Awards Committee make the decision.
Grad pictures will likely have retakes.
5. Other Business
QSP – we will advertise on email blast and website.
Mar 23 Parents’ Night, 5:00 – 6:30 prior to report card meetings. Christine and
Kathy will look into ideas for fundraising.
