Review of
Minutes: Deferred until next month
SAC Report:
December –
Spirit Week: Gingerbread, Karaoke, Kid’s
Fest – Santa visited, story time, volunteers included SAC Ambassadors and lots
of other student volunteers, Talent show was the last day of school in December
and a big success
January –
Slower month due to exam week, Wellness Club promoted stress reduction
Spirit week
– late February or early March
Semi formal
– March 12 at Lakeshore Convention Centre, tickets approx. $35, hoping for 200
students to attend
Black History
Month – BLESS – Black Ladies Empowering Student Success - a group of 14 female
students, positive messaging around
Black leadership and culture, Black History Month could be more authentic –
Ballet Creole, Inspirational Speaker, Drumming
Principal’s
Report:
Grade Nine
survey has been helpful identifying student interests, for example, the book
club and the boys football team.
Due to
OSSTF job action there are no staff meetings. Staff routines are well established so things
are going along smoothly. All of the extracurriculars are running. There will be no comments on the final
semester one report card.
April is
Cancer Drive month.

Treasurer’s
Report: balance $139.35, goal is $300.00
for the two scholarships, Parent Engagement we have $500, Parent Reaching Out
Grant, we have applied for the $500, but we haven’t heard back yet. We could consider a May presentation for
parents on social media, PDSB Mental Health Team has a prepared presentation we
could access.
New
Business: Corona virus – following best
practices as per Peel Health
